Prominent ukrainian politician and former parliamentary speaker, Andriy Parubiy, was shot and killed in a brazen daylight attack in the western city of Lviv on August 30, 2025. The 54-year-old was reportedly shot multiple times by an assailant disguised as a food delivery courier.

The attack occurred around noon, according to multiple international reports. The gunman, who fled the scene on an electric bicycle, remains at large. Ukrainian security forces have launched a massive manhunt for the suspect.

At the time of his death, he was a member of the opposition European Solidarity party.
